Corning’s Gaffer District Welcomes Slammin’ Jammin’ BBQ to Northside District

Corning, NY – July 2, 2013 - Corning’s Gaffer District is excited to welcome Slammin’ Jammin’ BBQ to Corning’s Northside.

Located at 37 E. Pulteney St., the restaurant opened this spring with one goal in mind–to provide homemade, authentic Texas-style barbecue food to the local community.

Owners Shelley McCullough and Ben Lewis are no strangers to the cuisine–with roots and experience in Texas, they bring a flavor to the area that parallels none other.  Specialties include popular barbecue meats including baby back ribs, brisket, pulled pork, sausage and chicken– all of which are smoked on-premises every single day.  In addition, customers will enjoy homemade sides such as coleslaw, fresh-cut French fries, cornbread and baked beans.

Following a lifelong dream of becoming an entrepreneur, Lewis knew that Corning was the perfect place to start the business, noting, “Being a part of a community like this is so important to us.  We are thrilled to be here and already welcoming regular customers to the restaurant.”  Lewis notes that, within only a few months of being open, the restaurant is serving hundreds of customers each week and enjoying a line of patrons out the door–literally–during the popular lunch hour.

The restaurant is open 7 days a week; customers are encouraged to find Slammin’ Jammin’ BBQ on Facebook to find out the daily specials offered by the restaurant.

A grand opening is scheduled for 2013.  For more information, visit Slammin’ Jammin’ BBQ at 37 E. Pulteney Street or find them on Facebook.
