Coleen Fabrizi (
) Coleen serves as Executive
Director of the corporation and therefore provides overall leadership
of the Corning Intown District Management Association, Inc. (DBA
Corning’s Gaffer District) so that productivity goals and strategic
objectives are met and that full accountability to the Board of
Directors is maintained.
She
serves as the public face of Corning’s Gaffer District and is therefore
the key liaison with other community leaders throughout the region and
the state. A key priority is the work she does with the Business and
Property Development Work Plan Group to retain and strengthen existing
businesses and to motivate private investment throughout the District.

Kristen Stewart (
) (x107) Director of Preservation
and Design. Kristen works with Corning’s Gaffer District businesses to
provide them with free design service for signs and buildings, with
special attention given to exterior changes and preservation. She is
responsible for project management including assistance with bidding
and construction inspections. Kristen works closely with the City of
Corning Design Review Committee and assists in management and
deployment of the Gaffer District sign and façade improvement grants as
well as providing local program administration for the New York Main
Street Grant. She is an alumna of Corning Community College and is
currently completing her Bachelor’s in Organizational Management
through Keuka College’s ASAP Program. Kristen resides in the town of
Corning with her son Zachary.

Mike Melaro ( mike@gafferdistrict.com ) (x108)
Director of Marketing and Communications. Mike brings over ten years
combined retail management, radio broadcasting and private marketing and public relations consulting experience to his
position with Corning's Gaffer District, working to promote the
district and increase customer traffic on a year-round basis. He works
closely with the promotions and events staff along with the Marketing
& Communications work plan group to strengthen marketing practices
and develop future initiatives. His retail experiences include a broad
range of specialties including consultative selling, visual
merchandising, human resources and loss prevention techniques.
Mike holds
a Bachelor's Degree in Spanish Literature and a Master's Degree in Integrated
Marketing Communications from the Russell J. Jandoli School of Journalism and
Mass Communication at St. Bonaventure University and lives in Corning with his
wife, Steffanie.

Lin Kotlinski ( lin@gafferdistrict.com ) (x105) Director of Events. Lin oversees all the Gaffer
District events from planning stages to execution. She is responsible
for hiring entertainment, coordinating vendors, and incorporating
Gaffer District businesses into each event. Lin works closely with
the Director of Marketing & Communications to ensure a cohesive
marketing strategy for the events season. She also helps develop
strategies to create repeat visits from event attendees. With over
15 years experience in the tradeshow industry and ten years
experience with food and beverage, production and entertainment for
Station Casinos, Inc., Lin returns to this area to be closer to
family and share her experiences with Corning's Gaffer District.
Lin lives in Caton with her husband John and their two new
puppies, Sampson and Delilah. |
Sandie Wilson (sandie@gafferdistrict.com)(x104)
Director of Administration and Operations. Sandie performs, coordinates and oversees
technical and office administrative duties in support of the Executive
Director and Board of Directors. She serves as a liason between the
office and Gaffer District business owners as well as meeting coordination,
special projects, and festival administration. Sandie also oversees the
Safety and Physical Infrastructure of Corning’s Gaffer District
including the Centerway Parking Facility.
A
journalism graduate of St. Bonaventure University and a former
newspaper reporter, Sandie has worked in the Corning business community
in marketing, advertising and communications for more than 25 years. |
Dawn Burlew ( BurlewDH@Corning.com )
Manager of Business Development. Dawn is responsible for business
recruitment, retention and development in Corning’s Gaffer District.
She also assists new and potential business and property owners with
real estate, financing and orientation to Corning’s Gaffer District. As
a part of Corning Enterprises, Dawn also works with several Economic
Development and Community Development initiatives. Dawn has her A.A.S.
in Business Management from Cazenovia College and her B.S. in Business
Management from Keuka College. Dawn resides in Chemung County with her
husband Rodney Schmidt and daughter where they own and operate Schmidt
Valley Farm equine facility. |

Kelli Schroeder (
)(x110) Finance Manager. Kelli primarily focuses on bookkeeping for the District's
office. She manages all financial transactions and records including
check requests, invoicing, and payroll. Kelli also administers all
Human Resources paperwork for the Gaffer District staff. Kelli assists
Market Street Restoration Agency and many other additional office
duties.

Ernie Gibbs (

Visual Consultant for Corning's Gaffer District. Ernie specializes in
retail and visual merchandising, and offers design advice (interior and
exterior) to new and existing business owners in Corning's Gaffer
District. Ernie is also responsible for the overall look and
personality of the district. Many of the window designs that Ernie has
created for Corning's Gaffer District have appeared in national
publications such as The Main Street News. His designs have also won
national awards from vendors of our local businesses.

Chipper Whitehead
Maintenance Supervisor
Works under the direction of the Director of Administration.
As Maintenance Supervisor, Chipper is responsible for the upkeep and
maintenance of Corning’s Gaffer District’s equipment and vehicles along
with maintenance of the physical infrastructure such as the Centerway
Parking Facility and Centerway Square. Chipper works simultaneously
with Curt to ensure daily and seasonal upkeep of the District
sidewalks, landscaping and general cleanliness to provide an
attractive setting for visitors year round.

Curt Simmons
Maintenance Assistant
Works under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor.
Curt and Chipper work simultaneously to oversee the daily and seasonal
upkeep of the District sidewalks, landscaping and overall general
cleanliness to provide an attractive setting for visitors year round.
Curt also provides mentoring and training for our seasonal CCC High
School Learning Center Student. |
