Made in 1981 when The Corning Museum of Glass' exhibition, "New Glass: A Worldwide Survey," traveled to the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, The New Glass [Pilkington] film will make its debut at The Palace Theater during GlassFest weekend. This documentary-style film will give viewers an inside look at the 1979 exhibition, "New Glass: A Worldwide Survey." See behind-the-scenes footage of exhibition installation, glass artists in their studios, various glassworking techniques, and commentary on the Studio Glass movement. This visually compelling film has been shown, in part, on British television, but has not been seen in the United States until now. The showing of this film coincides with The Corning Museum of Glass' current exhibition, New Glass Now–a monumental show that builds on the 1979 exhibition's revelations and legacy.
