Corning, NY—Corning's Gaffer District is pleased to announce that Chemung Canal Trust Company will continue its commitment as presenting sponsor for GlassFest through 2019.
Held throughout Downtown Corning between May 24-27, GlassFest is a four-day celebration of glass featuring hot glass shows, artists, vendors, live music entertainment, fireworks, and business promotions throughout the Gaffer District.
Chemung Canal Trust Company became the presenting sponsor of the inaugural GlassFest in 2010, and has played an integral role in the event's overwhelming success since. GlassFest continues to receive rave reviews from glass artists, collectors and visitors—many of whom travel to Corning from locations throughout the United States and the rest of the world.
Senior Vice President & Director of Marketing for Chemung Canal Trust Company, Mike Wayne commented, "We're thrilled about the success of GlassFest since its inception in 2010, and we're very excited to continue teaming up with the Gaffer District, our neighbors on Market Street and other community partners on this exciting community event."
Named an American Bus Association Top 100 Event for three consecutive years in 2014, 2015 and 2016, and with attendance from visitors and locals expected to be at an alltime high, Gaffer District and Chemung Canal officials are planning for the popular event to bring even more excitement and recognition to Corning's Historic Downtown this year.
"Thanks to the tremendous support and contribution from Chemung Canal Trust Company as our presenting sponsor we're expecting this to be the biggest GlassFest yet! It has been an honor to have the GlassFest brand affiliated with such a strong community partner from the beginning. Knowing that we can continue the collaboration to produce our signature event and positively impact the entire region is wonderful!" added Coleen Fabrizi, Executive Director for Corning's Gaffer District.
The 9th annual GlassFest will kick off with the celebrated Glass Ribbon Cutting ceremony at the Corning Museum of Glass at 6:00pm on Thursday, May 24. For a complete listing of GlassFest's scheduled events and updated information, please visit GlassFest.org.
