Corning, NY—Corning's Gaffer District is proud to announce that it has received a TripAdvisor® Certificate of Excellence. Now in its sixth year, the achievement celebrates hospitality businesses that have earned great traveler reviews on TripAdvisor over the past year. Certificate of Excellence recipients include accommodations, eateries and attractions located all over the world that have continually delivered a quality customer experience.
This marks the third consecutive year that the Gaffer District has been honored with the Certificate of Excellence.
"We are absolutely thrilled to learn that we have again earned the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence. What makes this such an important recognition for us is the fact that it comes through the experiences of our visitors. Whether it is someone from our region or anywhere on the planet, our downtown is a place that people choose to make memories and they love it! You just can't ask for anything more than that as a destination downtown!" said Coleen Fabrizi, Executive Director, Corning's Gaffer District.
"With the Certificate of Excellence, TripAdvisor honors hospitality businesses that have consistently received strong praise and ratings from travelers," said Heather Leisman, Vice President of Industry Marketing, TripAdvisor. "This recognition helps travelers identify and book properties that regularly deliver great service. TripAdvisor is proud to play this integral role in helping travelers feel more confident in their booking decisions."
The Certificate of Excellence accounts for the quality, quantity and recency of reviews submitted by travelers on TripAdvisor over a 12-month period. To qualify, a business must maintain an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five, have a minimum number of reviews and must have been listed on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months.
TripAdvisor Reviews for 2016:
"Too Cool. We loved Corning and especially the Gaffer District. We spent two separate evenings wandering the peaceful but cool area. We drank in the glass art shops and had great meals. Because we were staying at the Radisson, we were just feet from everything!" Reviewed on January 27, 2016 by QuincyKid (Austin, TX).
"This is a very cute area to spend an afternoon. There are an abundance of restaurants to choose from, a few of which offer outdoor dining. There are many vintage shops, jewelry stores and homegoods stores for those who like to shop. We happened to visit during Glassfest and were treated to a bunch of live music, live demonstrations and wine and beer tastings in the shops." Reviewed on May 27, 2016 by Teeel (Trenton, NJ).
"Hip and Trendy. Spent a day in Corning and enjoyed exploring this district. Fantastic architecture, great restaurants, bars, and shops, friendly people all around. A little gem in the heart of Corning." Reviewed on July 4, 2016 by ST23 (New Albany, Ohio).
